Hello, I am Dr. Basharat Alam Shah. I am an Internal Medicine MD, working as Internist at St Mary/Dean Venture in Central Wisconsin.
I graduated from Kashmir University in 1999 and completed Internal Medicine residencies at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine/Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, IL and Nassau University Medical Center East Meadow, NY
Besides being a physician I am also a freelance writer and a poet. While interacting with people on internet I realized that many people are still naive about their health and don't think it's necessary to see a doctor if they are healthy. People have misconceptions about diet, exercise and medicines. Therefore, I came up with an idea of providing online health mentoring to help people understand their health needs; besides, having an MD available 24/7 to answer questions could be a vital health tool.
